International Cultural Relations of the European Union – Europe, the World, Croatia, international conference organised in Rijeka on May 30th and 31st takes on questions of the role of cultural policies in fostering international cultural cooperation, imortance of cultural networks the expression of cultural change in international relations, how is the European Union using cultural diplomacy in strengthening external relations and what are the practices of the Republic of Croatia.

Kooperativa representatives participated in the round table named Sustainable models of cultural collaboration in Southeastern Europe whichaddressed present European and regional trends in fostering regional collaboration and outline perspectives for development of a long-term, sustainable model of transnational institutional support for cooperation of civil society in the field of culture in the region. The program provided insights into the current state of affairs in development of cooperation between cultural civil society actors in the region, as well as an insight into the current position and actions taken from the point of funding institutions toward support and development of collaboration in the region. Key challenges and necessary steps to be taken for further development of regional cooperation was also discussed. This panel should contribute toward an active dialog between cultural organisations from the region, funding institutions and decision making bodies in shaping the adequate model of sustainable support of regional collaboration in the future. Moderator of round table was Sanja Bojanić from the Academy of Applied Arts, University of Rijeka. Speakers were Kooperativa board members Ares Shporta and Milica Pekić, as well as Davor Mišković from Kooperativa member Drugo more, joined by Andre Wilkens from European Cultural Foundation and Davor Buinjac from City of Ljubljana.

Organisers of the conference were Rijeka 2020, Uniri and Centre for Democracy and Law Miko Tripalo.
