Kontrapunkt is association of citizens established in December 2001 in Skopje, devoted to developing alternative urban cultural policies and strengthening of the culture of connecting, locally, in the region of South East Europe and internationally. Kontrapunkt is committed to creating alternative public spaces and to questioning the models of cultural action based on the principles of diversity and integration. The goals of Kontrapunkt are to de-monopolise the field of culture and cultural policy, to foster the culture of connecting through networking, building joint platforms and partnerships, exchange of creative and theoretical potentials through implementation of joint projects.

Kontrapunkt mainly dedicates itself at present to long-term projects. Since 2008 the Robert Bosch Foundation with a Cultural Manager supports Kontrapunkt with the aim to implement a frequent cultural program. This season’s cultural program is dedicated to Media and the Arts under the name “Expanded Media”.
