Natalija Majsova, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in Cultural Studies at the University of Ljubljana. Her research interests include sociology of art and culture, cultural theory, memory studies, imaginaries of the future, and (post)socialist film studies. She has published articles and book chapters on diverse aspects of modern and historical popular culture, and its relationship to cultural and collective memory. With Sabine Lenk, she has recently co-edited the volume In a Beam of Light: The Magic Lantern and Belief in Western Europe, 1860-1940 (Brepols, 2022). Her last monograph Soviet Science Fiction Cinema and the Space Age: Memorable Futures was published with Lexington books in 2021.
