A gathering of South-East European independent cultural organizations was held last week in Zagreb, as Kooperativa – Regional Platform for Culture, had its Assembly. Representatives of cultural organizations that participated in the program came to Zagreb from Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Slovenia, Croatia, Monte Negro and Kosovo.  The aim of the gathering of these organizations was to debate and adopt a pilot-model for program cooperation and exchange in the Region.

The program cooperation and exchange in the Region of South-East Europe is a program that will start its implementation at the end of this year, and is a first step in ensuring a stabile framework for a long-term and sustainable project cooperation and program exchange between civil society actors in the field of culture in the Region.

The Assembly also saw new organizations become members of Kooperativa, and they are:

Jadro from Macedonia – a platform of cultural organizations which aims to strenghten the independent cultural sector and its impact on the creation and implementation of cultural policies;

Kurziv from Croatia which, as a longtime strategic partner to organizations from Croatia and other regional organizations, was seen as a valuable partner that could contribute with its work to enhanced visibility of Kooperativa platform and its program cooperation and exchange;

finally, Seecult.org from Serbia – a portal for South-East European culture is, the same as Kurziv, recognized as an important partner in strengthening the visibility of the regional program cooperation and exchange.

The next step for the Kooperativa platform is the implementation of a pilot-cycle of program cooperation and exchange for its member organizations, which will be launched at the end of 2015.
