Last month we published a publication entitled HOW TO BUILD NETWORKS AND WHY?: From resilience towards sustainability, the first in the series of three source books that we aim to produce as part of the REG.LAB project.  HOW TO BUILD NETWORKS AND WHY? is an evidence-based publication gathering and articulating knowledge on innovative bottom-up models of organisation.

From the 1990s onwards the cultural space of the former Yugoslavia, specifically, its independent cultural sector, has been making a significant contribution to the development of collaborative practices and to the overall understanding of participation and organising. While since the 1980s there has been a strong development of networking practices in the broad European cultural space, and much has been written about this phenomenon from different perspectives, the phenomenon of networking and organising in the territory of the former Yugoslavia has remained under-researched. The publication HOW TO BUILD NETWORKS AND WHY?: From Resistance to Sustainability is a significant contribution to the inclusion of often neglected Yugoslav experiences and practices of networking, cooperation, and horizontal organising to our knowledge of contemporary networking practices. The source book is published in 5 languages and a large international team was involved in its production including Tjaša Pureber as editor; Ana Abramović, Marijana Cvetković, Iskra Geshoska, Vullnet Sanaja, Domagoj Šavor as members of the editorial team; Ana Letunić and Jovana Karaulić as researchers and authors; Aurela Kadriu, Marija Jones, Veronika Mesić, Kristina Božič as translators; Veronika Mesić, Aulonë Kadriu, Violeta Tanceva, Špela Trošt as proofreaders, and Petra Milički as a designer.

So far we have presented this publication in Mostar at AKC Abrašević and in Zagreb where we were hosted by Booksa. Check the photos of the book launches in the gallery.
